Members of the U.S. Navy take part in the graveside service of U.S. Navy Fireman 3rd Class John H. Lindsley, Oct. 25, 2016, in Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery. Lindsley was assigned to the USS Oklahoma, which was moored at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, when the ship was attacked by Japanese aircraft. The USS Oklahoma sustained multiple torpedo hits, which caused it to quickly capsize. The attack on the ship resulted in 429 casualties, including Lindsley. Jean-Marc Lefranc, fourth from the left, president of the Comité du Débarquement ("Landing Committee"), and his family lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. Comité du Débarquement (or, "Landing Committee"), is a French organization that plans and sponsors events to commemorate the great sacrifices made by American troops and other Allied service members during the D-Day landing on June 6, 1944.
