On Sunday, Dec. 8, the annual Wreaths Across America Family Pass Holder Day will be held at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) and the Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery (SAHNC). From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., family pass holders are invited to place a wreath at their loved one’s grave ahead of the National Wreaths Across America Day on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Wreaths will be available all day. Please come throughout the day; there is no need to arrive right at the beginning. No registration is necessary, but both pedestrian and driving family pass holders must have an official ANC family pass to receive a wreath to place. Photocopies of family passes will not be accepted. Please have your family pass and ID ready upon arrival.
Please download our map and plan your route ahead of time. Once inside the cemetery, vehicular traffic will not be able to cross over Memorial Avenue. If you have detailed questions upon arrival, you may be directed to proceed to the funeral queuing lanes, and representatives will be there to answer them.
The cemetery will be open to the public on this day. However, wreaths will be provided only to family pass holders. One wreath will be provided per family pass. The issuance of wreaths will be in line with the criteria for issuance of a permanent family pass: limited to parents, spouses, siblings and children of the deceased. There will be no wreaths available for the general public on Family Pass Holder Day.
If a family pass holder chooses to place a wreath at Soldiers' and Airmen's Home National Cemetery, they may pick up a wreath at ANC and take it to SAHNC.
Entering the Cemetery
Those with ANC family passes are welcome to drive into the cemetery on this day, using the Arlington National Cemetery main entrance gate on Memorial Avenue. Throughout the day, Memorial Avenue will be a one-way entrance only.
Those walking to the cemetery are welcome to enter through Memorial Avenue, Ord & Weitzel Gate and Service Complex Gate (pedestrian only) as well. Old Post Chapel Gate will be open for entry and exit to those who have a DoD ID.
Wreaths will be distributed on Memorial Avenue.
Exiting the Cemetery
To exit the cemetery, family pass holders arriving in vehicles will be able to use only the Ord & Weitzel Gate, Service Complex Gate and Old Post Chapel Gate (DoD ID holders only).
Pedestrians who arrived by Metro may exit via the Memorial Avenue entrance (Arlington Cemetery station), the Ord & Weitzel Gate (Rosslyn station) or Service Complex Gate (Pentagon station).
We look forward to having you here at Arlington National Cemetery to honor and remember our nation’s finest during the holiday season.
