Turf renovations underway at Arlington National Cemetery in sections 30, 31, 41, 51, 52, and 53

September 06, 2013
Arlington National Cemetery completely renovates more than 35 acres of turf each year, which includes removing the old turf, tilling the soil and planting new turf from seed. Each year the maintenance crews work on a rotating basis, renovating different sections as needed. This fall, crews are doing turf renovations in sections 30, 31, 41, 51, 52 and 53. Right now and continuing for the next several weeks, you will notice signs in these sections/areas where work is being completed. Unless you are visiting a particular grave in a section, we ask that you please refrain from excessive walking on these areas when possible.
