Road Closures on Oct. 27 for the Marine Corps Marathon

On Sunday, October 27, 2013, there will be various road closures in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia during the Marine Corps Marathon that will affect traffic patterns in and around the capital. There will be no vehicle access into Arlington National Cemetery from Memorial Ave for most of Sunday. Route 110 will also be closed until around 4 p.m.

The October 3, 2013 meeting of the Advisory Committee on Arlington National Cemetery is cancelled due to the potential shutdown of the federal government. Federal rules prohibit federal advisory committee meetings to occur while the government is shut down. The meeting will be rescheduled.

Arlington National Cemetery will be open if the federal government shuts down

Arlington National Cemetery remains operational for interment operations and will be open to the general public in the event of a lapse in appropriations for much of the federal government. However, the National Park Service plans to curtail operations. At Arlington National Cemetery, the Arlington House will be closed for the duration of the government shutdown, and the Martz Tour tram service managed by the National Park Service will be temporarily suspended. Arlington National Cemetery will be open as usual for pedestrian access, and we strive to accommodate vehicular access to visitors with disabilities and physical limitations. Drivers may apply for a temporary vehicular access pass at the visitor's desk in the Welcome Center lobby.

Memorial Bridge and Memorial Circle closed Sat., Sept. 14 for Navy Air Force Half Marathon

This Saturday is the Navy Air Force Half Marathon and 5 Miler. There will be numerous closures in D.C. GWMP closures include Memorial Bridge and Memorial Circle potentially from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. ANC will be accessible through Rt. 110 and the Southbound G.W. Parkway during the closures.
