Special Guided Walking Tour: "Medal of Honor Recipients at Arlington National Cemetery"

In recognition of National Medal of Honor Day, Arlington National Cemetery announces a special guided walking tour of Arlington National Cemetery focusing on Medal of Honor recipients buried at Arlington, as well as the history of the Medal of Honor. Tom Sherlock, Arlington National Cemetery historian, and Timothy Frank, a historian with the Naval History and Heritage Command, will narrate the tour. Frank was a contract historian for the Medal of Honor Society from 2002 to 2004, and had the opportunity to interview 60 Medal of Honor recipients.

Eisenhower Drive Road Closures Starting March 9, 2012

Arlington County utility work will cause Eisenhower Drive road closures starting March 9, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. through the end of June. Eisenhower Drive south of Porter/Bradley will close at 6pm on March 9th through May 10, 2012. Eisenhower north of Porter/Bradley will close May 11th and reopen by June 30, 2012. Vehicles will be able to cross Eisenhower Drive road from Bradley Drive to Porter Drive. Detour signs will be posted. We apologize for any potential inconvenience.

Special Guided Van Tour of Arlington National Cemetery focusing on African-American Civil War History, Feb. 22 & 29

The National Park Service is conducting a special guided van tour of Arlington National Cemetery focusing on African-American Civil War history on Feb. 22 and Feb. 29th, from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The tour is free-of-charge, but reservations are required.
