National Veterans Day Observance at Arlington National Cemetery

The annual National Veterans Day Observance, honoring the men and women who have served and continue to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces during war and peacetime, will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. in the Memorial Amphitheater at Arlington National Cemetery. More info coming soon!

Impacts on travel to Arlington National Cemetery October 9

The Army Ten-Miler takes place Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011. There will be some road closures and traffic restrictions that may affect traveling to Arlington National Cemetery on this date.

Beginning at 5:00 am the following roads will be closed:

• Ramp to southbound Rt.110 from Memorial Drive

• Access to North Pentagon Parking from southbound ramp of George Washington Memorial Parkway to southbound Rt. 27 / I-395


Beginning at 7:30 am the following roads will close and open on a rolling schedule:

• Arlington Memorial Bridge

• George Washington Memorial Parkway access to Memorial Bridge diverted to Rt. 50 bypass

• Southbound George Washington Memorial Parkway ramp to Memorial Drive • West Basin Drive

• Constitution Avenue between 23rd Street and 18th Street

• Rock Creek Parkway from K Street to Parkway Drive (northbound Rock Creek Parkway will be opened from K Street and points north)

• Independence Avenue from 23rd Street to 15th Street • 17th Street from Constitution Avenue to Independence Avenue

• 15th Street from Constitution Avenue to East Basin Drive

• Jefferson Drive between 3rd and 7th Street

• 3rd, 4th, and 7th streets will be closed by Metropolitan Police Department - Mall access will be very limited


All roads should be opened by 11:00 am.
