Construction Projects at Arlington National Cemetery

10/14/2011
Arlington National Cemetery is undertaking a number of construction projects to help restore the grounds and facilities that require our attention. Current projects include the following:

  •  Installation of Sidewalk. We are installing a state-of-the-art rubberized sidewalk along Eisenhower Drive, one of the main streets at Arlington National Cemetery, for pedestrian safety. Right now, pedestrians share the road with vehicular traffic. The project is scheduled to be completed by the Spring 2012. Until then, visitors to Arlington National Cemetery should carefully walk along Eisenhower Drive.
  • Flagstone Replacement. We are replacing the flagstone walkway around the Memorial Amphitheatre. During this time, please expect detours around the Amphitheatre and the Tomb of the Unknowns. The work is scheduled to be completed by November 10th.
