Memorial Day Flowers are back for 2016!
The Memorial Day Foundation is bringing more than 130,000 roses to Arlington National Cemetery to honor fallen troops this Memorial Day Weekend.
On Memorial Day, volunteers will hand out 30,000 roses to entering visitors and families of fallen troops. Volunteers will be stationed at the Arlington National Cemetery Welcome Center and at Section 60 where hundreds of troops who fell in Iraq and Afghanistan are interred and where there will be military families visiting gravesites of their loved ones.
On Sunday Volunteers will place roses at more than 130,000 gravesites.
In partnership with the Foundation, more than 200 retail florists and main street businesses will distribute roses from their shops to the public for placement in cemeteries across the country to honor fallen service members and late veterans. Flower growers from Colombia, Ecuador, and the United States donate flowers for the Arlington National Cemetery event.
