The annual Easter Sunrise Service, hosted by Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, at Arlington National Cemetery's Memorial Amphitheater is scheduled to take place April 1, at 6:30 a.m.
U.S. Air Force Chief of Chaplains (Maj. Gen.) Dondi E. Costin will be the guest speaker. The service is free and open to the public.
The main gates on Memorial Avenue and the Old Post Chapel Gate, which connects Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall with Arlington National Cemetery, will open at 5 a.m.
The parking garage will open at 5 a.m. and will be free for people attending the Easter Sunrise Service. Family pass holders will not be able to drive onto the cemetery grounds until the cemetery's usual opening time of 8 a.m. There is no walking to the amphitheater from the parking garage; a free shuttle service will transport all guests.
Backpacks will not be allowed in the cemetery for the service; blankets, baby strollers, and water in clear, plastic bottles are allowed.
Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The service will be streamed live on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall's Facebook page at www.facebook.com/jbmhh/.
