Veterans Day Media Events at Arlington National Cemetery

 

WHAT & WHERE: 63rd National Veterans Day Observance

    Wreath-laying: Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

    Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia

    Observance Program: Memorial Amphitheater

    Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia

 

WHEN: Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.

 

EVENT DETAILS:

7:30 a.m. Media Desk co-located with the Welcome Center opens.

    Free parking is available in the Welcome Center’s parking garage.

8 a.m. Media shuttle will begin transporting media to the ceremony site.

9:30 a.m. Media Desk closes and the final media shuttle departs to ceremony site.

10:30 a.m. United States Navy Band, begins the prelude concert inside Memorial Amphitheater.11 a.m. Presidential Armed Forces Full Honor wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier followed by an observance program hosted by the Department of Veterans Affairs in Arlington National Cemetery’s memorial amphitheater.

 

REGISTRATION: Media interested in covering the 63rd National Veterans Day Observance must register by 12 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9. To be placed on the credentialed list, send an email to usarmy.mcnair.mdw.mbx.mediadesk-omb@mail.mil with the following information: your full name, date of birth, place of birth, social security number, media outlet, title, contact phone number, email address, current residence, and which ceremony you would like to cover (wreath-laying or observance program).

 

EDITOR’S NOTES:

 Satellite truck pre-cabling will occur Thursday, Nov. 10 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. To schedule an appointment, please send an email to stephen.j.smith162.civ@mail.mil no later than 12 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 9 with the following information: your name, media organization, title, email address and contact phone number.

 

 The U.S. Army Military District of Washington Public Affairs Office will contact media outlets with their credential status no later than 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 10.
