Hours of operation change April 1; Changing of the Guard takes place every 30 minutes

Effective April 1, Arlington National Cemetery's hours of operation change to remain open two hours later each day. The cemetery is now open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. The parking garage closes an hour later at 8 p.m.

The annual Easter Sunrise Service, hosted by Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, at Arlington National Cemetery's Memorial Amphitheater is scheduled to take place April 1, at 6:30 a.m.

ARLINGTON, Va. – Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) is at a crossroads in its history. In approximately 23 years, the cemetery will run out of space and will no longer be an active cemetery. In order to extend the cemetery's capacity for generations to come, changes to eligibility criteria and expansion of the cemetery's geographic footprint are required.


Arlington National Cemetery home to new state champion tree

ARLINGTON, Va. – A Dwarf Hackberry growing in Section 8 of Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) is the most recent addition to ANC’s list of state champion and co-champion trees. Two sets of measurements were required in a contest that involved two other hackberries at ANC and four other trees growing in Alexandria, Virginia, one of which included the reigning champion.
