Funeral Information
REAL ID REQUIREMENTS REMINDER: OCT. 24, 2025
In anticipation of increased visitor traffic during the upcoming holiday season, Arlington National Cemetery reminds visitors that anyone over the age of 18 entering the cemetery in a vehicle—to include both drivers and passengers—must present a REAL ID-compliant identification at the security check point. This applies to all those authorized to who drive into the cemetery via Memorial Avenue, Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall or the Service Complex Gate: funeral attendees, family pass holders, honor flights, contractors who do not possess a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC) or an Automated Installation (AIE) badge, and family-hired photographers and florists.
Visitors who park their vehicles in the Welcome Center parking garage, walk, take the Metro or use a ride share service to ANC will NOT be required to present REAL ID-compliant identification, as they go through standard physical security screening within the Welcome Center.

Arlington National Cemetery, our nation’s most hallowed ground, is the final resting place for nearly 430,000 active duty service members, veterans and their families. This historic cemetery bears witness to American heritage and the military service and sacrifice of men and women in uniform throughout U.S. history.
Veterans are laid to rest with dignity and honor at Arlington National Cemetery by a compassionate and dedicated work force. We believe that caring for our nation's heroes and their families during their time of need is a sacred duty entrusted to us.
