Be All You Can Be! Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) invites you to a special walking tour in honor of the United States Army’s 248th Birthday on June 14, 2023. The U.S. Army is the oldest and largest service branch in the U.S. military, tracing its roots back to the Continental Army established in 1775. Throughout its history, the U.S. Army has continually risen to meet the ever-changing needs of an expanding and diverse nation. This tour will focus on the transition of the Army from conscripted service to the rise of the all-volunteer force 50 years ago.

The Old Guard Leads 75th Annual Flags-In Ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery

ARLINGTON, VA—On Thursday, May 25, Arlington National Cemetery (ANC), the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (the Old Guard) and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington conducted a joint service “Flags-In” ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery and Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home National Cemetery (SAHNC). This annual event, held on the Thursday before Memorial Day, honors every individual laid to rest at ANC and SAHNC.

VA Adds 300,000 Veterans and Service Members from 27 Military Cemeteries to Veterans Legacy Memorial

WASHINGTON — Today, the Department of Veterans Affairs, in collaboration with the Office of Army Cemeteries, announced that it has added 300,000 service members and Veterans interred in 27 Department of Defense-managed military cemeteries into the Veterans Legacy Memorial (VLM) website.


ANC Wins Major National Award for Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Centennial Commemoration

Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall to Host Annual Easter Sunrise Service

The annual National Military Easter Sunrise Service will be held Sunday, April 9 at Arlington National Cemetery’s Memorial Amphitheater and hosted by Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall Commander Col. David D. Bowling. The service, which will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m., will also be live streamed on the joint base Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/jbmhh.
